I have a slow leak under the kitchen sink which I think is the tallest thread in the picture below. It will flow out when the sink is full.
Are you talking about the threaded connection between the white pipe and the grey pipe running down the sink? You can try to seal the joint by turning the nut clockwise. If it’s loose, you can do it by hand and attach it to a slip joint or wrench with large pliers. Be careful not to overuse it and break anything. All these connections are like compression fittings. The ends of the PVC pipe are pressed against each other with plastic nuts, you can see it on all the joints.
If you’re talking about the black pipe that connects to the bottom of the sink, you may need to loosen the nut that connects the black pipe to the gray pipe so you can pull the black pipe to the sink. Inside the sink is a threaded tube (the metal tube that the sink plug goes into) that slides into the black pipe and holds it securely to the sink. Usually, plumbing putty is placed as a putty under the flange of that pipe, then inserted into the drain hole at the bottom of the sink, and then screwed into the black drain, which you can see in the photo.
Replace A Leaking Sink Drain Pipe
Again, a small snuggle might be enough to stop a leak. If not, you will need to disconnect the pipe under the sink, remove the drain from inside the sink, then reapply pipe sealant and reinstall. For more information, see the YouTube video on installing the receiver.
You can try silicone to stop the leak (make sure the surface is dry before using). This isn’t the “correct” way to fix it, but it’s cheap and easy and should last for years, especially if there’s no movement under the sink.

All. I have a kitchen sink seal with small drops leaking between the rubber seal/washer and the screw ring. It looks like the glue came off somewhere between the parts and the cardboard ring.
Simple Ways To Fix A Leaky Sink Drain Pipe
Is there a way to rebond or seal the parts together and stop leaks without having to disassemble things? Maybe as putty or tape someone can recommend?
Expanding on another answer. There’s no way for you to somehow tuck into an already leaky basket, and this will provide a solid solution. The correct solution is to simply disassemble the existing assembly and repair it with a suitable sealant.
Note that on most sinks, some plumbing putty must be installed under the upper edge of the drain basket, which will be pressed against the edge of the hole from the top of the sink. This sealant really seals the leaky joint on the sink. The washer you see under the sink is just a support surface for a large round nut screwed onto the outside of the drain basket.
In many cases, it is best to replace the drain basket completely. They’re not particularly expensive and can be purchased at hardware stores and home centers.
Common Plumbing Problems: How To Repair Leaks
Remember, if you choose to ignore this advice and try to fix the leak by rolling a ball over a silicone sealant, epoxy, or other type of material, if the clogged waste doesn’t fix properly, removing the basket for a proper fix will becomes more difficult. repair. .
