This is a bit of a late review, as we visited in April 2026 to celebrate my birthday, but this restaurant has stayed in my mind ever since. From the warm hospitality and attentive service to the incredible food and thoughtful attention to detail, every part of the experience felt special. It’s one of those places that exceeds your expectations in every way. If I ever find myself in Manchester again, this will definitely be one of my first stops. Thank you once again for such a memorable experience!

An incredible meal where the head chef delivered dishes & was so generous with his knowledge & time. He even gave us a tip on how to get the scallops as delicious as they do cooking at home. The best food we’ve had on our trip, high end delicious food without being pretentious. The sea bream tartare was incredible. And mushroom with roast onion tea 👌

  • Delicate Weapon (a month ago):

We dined here last night. The presentation of the dishes was elegant and visually appealing; however, we were unfortunately disappointed by the quality of the food itself. The predominant flavour throughout the meal was salt. The dishes were so heavily seasoned that it obscured other flavours, making it difficult to appreciate the individual ingredients. The mushroom dish, in particular, tasted primarily of soy sauce and salt, lacking the depth and balance one would expect. I also ordered the scallops. While the scallops themselves were prepared adequately, the accompanying elements on the plate were excessively salty, to the extent that I found the dish difficult to finish. The seasoning overwhelmed the other flavours and significantly diminished the overall enjoyment of the course. The potato dish was likewise disappointing. It was dry in the centre, and the skin was so tough that much of it was effectively inedible. One dish was particularly perplexing. Despite its description and presentation, it resembled half a piece of fried chicken covered in gravy in both flavour and texture. While this comparison may seem severe, it accurately reflects our experience. It is unfortunate, as the food was attractively presented and clearly demonstrated considerable effort in its preparation. However, presentation alone cannot compensate for shortcomings in flavour. Regrettably, the meal did not meet our expectations, and the overall dining experience fell well below the standard we had anticipated.

After wandering around for a while, with both Apple and Google Maps doing their best to hide it from us (get what 3 words on your website 😂), we finally found Another Hand… and what a find it turned out to be. Before I even mention the food, I have to talk about the staff. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the service was genuinely exceptional. Friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what they do. Every member of the team knew the menu and wine list inside out, and when each dish arrived, they explained it with such enthusiasm that you couldn’t help but get excited about what was in front of you. It never felt scripted—it felt like they truly believed in every plate leaving the kitchen. We were lucky enough to sit outside, with a live band from a neighbouring bar providing the soundtrack to the evening. It created the perfect atmosphere. The sharing-style menu is exactly how I love to eat. We ordered a selection of dishes and honestly, every single one deserved its place on the table. There wasn’t a weak link. The Wild Thing is an absolute must-order. The scallops were little bundles of joy from the sea—cooked beautifully and packed with flavour. And then there was the chicken… wow. Quite possibly one of the best chicken dishes I’ve ever eaten. I don’t want to spoil too much because discovering these dishes for yourself is part of the experience. A huge thank you to everyone at Another Hand for looking after us so well. Your passion for what you do shines through in every conversation, every recommendation and every plate that leaves the kitchen. If you’re visiting Manchester and enjoy incredible food, outstanding service and a relaxed atmosphere, put Another Hand at the very top of your list. It’s an absolute gem, and we’ll definitely be back.

This mini restaurant feels like a special hidden gem, lively, intimate and exciting. Dishes feeling creative and experimental. The food is carefully crafted although sometimes tastes are not quite balanced. My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary and she is gluten free and could not have raw fish as she is pregnant. This is a challenge for any kitchen. The experience was fun with some of the dishes ordered featured really interesting combinations memorable dishes for us being the trout and the pork. Unfortunately the balance of tastes was occasionally off. Bitter notes were sometimes used very well but at times overpowered, we both ordered a radicchio dish which neither of us could finish just too bitter. Turn around of dishes was occasionally slow, our first dish arrived 50 minutes after ordering but after that seemed to flow smoothly. Overall I probably wouldn't return in a hurry as I would want the food to be more consistent for this price. I will say the service was very good, friendly and attentive. Our water glasses were never empty with waitresses silently gliding past to check-in and top up throughout. There were several dishes that were excellent so this restaurant is worth keeping an eye on.

Everything we ordered was so gorgeous, immaculate presentation and flavours. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. It’s a Michelin guide restaurant but prices are really reasonable. Can’t wait to come back!

A brilliant spot for a special occasion or proper treat meal. Not boujee, not pretentious, just all about really good food and wine. Not only was the food outstanding here, I loved the vibe too. It’s a small, intimate place, and you can see just a couple of guys behind the kitchen working their socks off. They only run a few different time slots throughout the day which really helped the flow of the evening. The place gradually filled up and the whole vibe lifted as the good food and wine started flowing. We went for a selection of plates to share, plus one dessert for myself (obviously). Every plate looked top notch and, more importantly, tasted unreal. The senses were well and truly satisfied. Full of flavour, beautifully cooked and properly thought through. What more could you ask for. The wine was on the higher priced side at £56, but in a place like this it didn’t feel out of place. And to be fair, it was really delicious, so I had zero regrets by the second glass. Service was spot on. Casual, helpful and genuinely knowledgeable. Not stiff, not forced, and definitely not that awkward fine-dining energy. You could tell they were passionate about what they’re doing, which always makes the whole experience better. It was also a lovely touch to be welcomed with some complimentary bubbles to help celebrate the special occasion. Verdict: A proper treat-night spot. Not one for every week, but absolutely worth it for a special occasion or when you fancy

Amazing food but a little too pricy. Everything from start to end was delicious. Our absolute favourite items were the Celeriac Lasagne, Winter Squash Flatbread, Blood Orange Cheesecake and the Lamb. The Celeriac Lasagne was phenomenal, with a tinge of truffle and perfectly made sauce. Highly recommend that. The only issue was that the portions were small for the price we paid. We don’t regret going but it was definitely a dent in our wallets.
