Remove Debt Collections From Your Credit Report

A few years ago, I shared a story about how certain negative actions can affect your credit history. Below is a summary. Keep in mind that the ideal FICO score is 850, and you need 730-760 to get the best possible deals based on your lender.

There were two cutouts in the upper parts for easier access to the higher walls. There were two cutouts in the lower parts for easier access to the higher walls. It is also important: chronic crime, low impact.

Since unpaid bills will destroy your credit rating, the argument is that paying them will reverse it. But not everything makes sense when it comes to credit ratings.

Why Did Your Credit Score Drop After Paying Off Debt?

According to the most widely used credit rating manufacturer, the FICO score does not help pay for collection accounts. Here’s what myFICO.com says:

How Will Debt Settlement Affect My Credit Score

In short, debt collection does not affect your credit history. However, this can affect the lender who looks beyond your score in the source that is your credit history. Then there is your personal ethical index, otherwise known as conscience. When you borrow money, you promise to repay it. So other than a legitimate dispute, what do you need to do? Or at least that’s how I grew up.

The Fair Credit History Act allows you to resolve any disputes regarding your credit history. Once you file a dispute, the credit rating agency or credit rating agency usually has 30 days to investigate the item, which it does by returning to the agency or creditor who posted it in your report. If that agency or lender does not respond, the CRA cannot determine if the item is correct, so they must remove it. They must then inform the other credit rating agencies so that it can be removed from them as well.

Obviously, you should not argue about things that you know are right, and I do not recommend that you do so. But I can tell you it’s over. It’s like declaring an innocent on a travel ticket, then hoping the police won’t show up in court: automatic dismissal.
