To fix a leaking pipe, start by turning off the water supply to your home and turn on all faucets to drain any remaining water from the pipe. Next, locate the slip ring that matches the size and type of pipe and hold it to the pipe’s leak point. Then mark the end of the fitting on the leaking pipe and use a pipe cutter to cut the leak. When you’re done, tear the inside and outside of the pipe with the switch to reset it. Finally, slide the fitting onto the ends of the pipe to close the gap you just cut. How To Replace A Kitchen Sink Drain Strainer, Repair Leak
I have a slow leak under the sink, which I think is the tip of the thread in the picture below. It leaks when the sink is full.
Are you talking about the connection between the white pipe and the gray pipe leading to the sink? You can just try to decorate the connection by turning the nut to the right. If it is loose, you can do it with your own hands and then cover it with large slip pliers or a pipe wrench. Be careful not to overdo it or spoil anything. All these components are similar to pressure tools. The mounting ends of the PVC pipe are fastened together with a plastic nut that can be seen on all elements.
If you are talking about the black pipe that connects to the bottom of the sink, you may need to loosen the connecting rod from the black to the gray in order to tighten the black pipe to the sink. Inside the steel pipe is a coated pipe (the metal pipe through which the sink stopper goes) that connects to this black pipe and holds it firmly to the bottom. Typically, plumber’s putty is placed as a seal under the pipe flange, which is then inserted into the drain hole at the bottom of the sink and pulled out of the black pipe you see in the photo.
Also, a little spray can be all that is needed to prevent water leaks. If not, you will need to disconnect the water pipes at the bottom of the sink so that you can remove the drain hose inside the sink and reinsert the putty seal and replace it. Simple Ways To Fix A Leaky Sink Drain Pipe
You can try using silicone to stop the leak (make sure the surface is dry before using). There’s no “right way” to fix it, but it’s simple and easy, and it should last for years, especially if there’s no movement under the pan.
